OUR STORY

NEONS started with a simple idea: nightlife could be more interesting.

Created and founded by Blaise, NEONS was born from a desire to build something different from the traditional pub, bar or club, somewhere with its own identity, atmosphere and sense of occasion.

The original concept was a small, independent late-night venue built around neon light, music, art, technology and a deliberately unconventional approach to nightlife.

Rather than taking over an existing bar concept and changing the sign above the door, NEONS was built from the ground up.

The name, brand, visual identity, venue concept, lighting, interior design, technology, drinks offering, events and operating model were developed specifically for NEONS by Blaise.

Much of the venue itself was created hands-on by designing, sourcing, experimenting, painting, wiring, building and adapting the space piece-by-piece.

WHY NEONS?

The idea came from looking at the local nightlife scene and seeing an opportunity.

There are plenty of places to have a drink.

NEONS was intended to be somewhere people actually wanted to experience.

A place that feels different as soon as you walk through the door.

Neon and UV lighting. Music. Art. DJs and performers. Unusual events. A little cyberpunk influence. A little chaos. And an environment that isn't afraid to try things that wouldn't necessarily make sense in a conventional pub.

It was also created as a genuinely independent venue, somewhere capable of giving local artists, DJs, creators and interesting ideas a platform without needing to fit into a large corporate nightlife formula.

BUILT INDEPENDENTLY

NEONS wasn't created by a hospitality group, brewery or nightclub chain.

It began as an idea, a room and a willingness to build something.

Blaise's background is primarily in technology, cyber security, business and entrepreneurship rather than traditional hospitality, which is probably one of the reasons NEONS doesn't look or operate quite like a traditional bar.

Instead of starting with “how do bars normally do this?”, the question has often been:

“How could we do this better, simpler or differently?”

From the technology behind the venue to its visual identity and event concepts, that mindset has shaped NEONS from the beginning.

The Premise

NEONS is deliberately difficult to put into one category.

It can be a bar.

It can be a vape lounge.

It can be a late-night venue.

It can be a live music space.

It can be a continually evolving art space.

It can be somewhere to discover a DJ you've never heard before, attend something slightly ridiculous, meet people, or simply have a drink surrounded by neon lights at one in the morning.

The goal isn't to become another generic nightclub.

The goal is to create a place with enough personality that people remember being here.

What Comes Next

NEONS is still evolving.

New events, new ideas and occasionally questionable experiments will inevitably appear.

Some will become permanent parts of NEONS. Others may spectacularly fail and never be spoken of again.

That's part of building an independent venue.

The long-term ambition is simple:

Create somewhere people genuinely love coming to, build a community around it, support interesting people and ideas, and keep making NEONS better.
